The Forgotten
Sessions

In 2009, a local metalcore band in NYC began recording their debut album. Before it could be finished, life pulled everyone in different directions. The songs remained untouched for 16 years. Today, they're finally being heard as they were always meant to sound.

Unholy Thirst began long before The Forgotten Sessions.

The band's roots trace back to 2003, when two friends walking in the lunchroom of F.L.A.G.S. High School in the South Bronx formed a band called Broken Links. Inspired by Linkin Park and the other bands that defined the early 2000s, the group spent the next several years rehearsing relentlessly.

By late 2007, the idea had evolved. The songwriting became darker, heavier, and more ambitious, blending melodic metalcore, progressive influences, and thrash-inspired aggression. With that evolution came a new name: Unholy Thirst.

The band performed throughout New York City, playing small venues across the Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens - including shows at The Knitting Factory. Much of the band's writing, rehearsing, and recording took place at Danny Screams Studios at 220 Leonard Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn - a studio that has since closed but remains an important part of the band's history.

Like many independent bands of the era, life eventually pulled everyone in different directions before a full-length album could be completed. The recordings, demos, and unfinished ideas were packed away, becoming little more than memories.

Nearly two decades later, those songs were revisited - not to rewrite the past, but to finally hear the album they were always meant to become.

The Forgotten Sessions is the result: a collection of songs originally written during the band's final years together, completed nineteen years after they were first conceived. New or incomplete songs from throughout the years were also added to the release.

This album is finally here.
